Jesse Daves is the head farmer and founder of Amyo Farms. He began his farming career in California’s Sonoma County at a small market garden called Easy Sweet Farm. Under the tutelage of Neil Dunaetz, an accomplished market gardener and perfectionist, Jesse learned the first lessons of farming—take care of the soil, take care when picking, and take pride in what you are doing.
Raised in Bosque Farms, New Mexico, Jesse returned to New Mexico to work for Erda Gardens, a CSA, which at that time was located at the historic Los Poblanos Inn in Los Ranchos de Albuquerque. The following year he started farming his family’s land in Bosque Farms, bringing his produce to the Albuquerque Downtown Grower’s Market.
Two years later he co-founded the Nob Hill Growers’ Market with his fellow farmers Eli Burg and Amanda Mioni of Chispas Farm and drafting his mother, Georgia Daves, to be the market manager. Look for us at both these markets, as well as at the Academy Market and Coralles Farmer’s Markets.
